SHRIMP launched August 4, 2010

SHRIMP is the Simple, Handy, Risk-based Integrity Management Plan. SHRIMP is an online tool that
gas utility operators can use to create a written Distribution Integrity Management Plan (DIMP).

SHRIMP includes:
  1. A template for a written DIMP plan, which is then filled out with user-specific information
  2. Preloaded PHMSA Distribution Annual Report data. The program already knows about the user's materials of construction and leaks repaired by cause. Users can edit this data or enter from scratch if not found
  3. Q & A threat assessment process to assess each of the eight threats required by the DIMP rule information to help the user subdivide the system, and recommendations on A/A Actions to address one or more threats
  4. A mathematical risk ranking model
  5. Optional user revised risk rankings with a justification for each change. The explanation is incorporated into the final written DIMP plan
  6. A list of A/A Action options for each threat. The user can enter their own A/A Actions to address a threat not listed
  7. A list of possible performance measures the user may choose to evaluate the effectiveness of the DIMP program in controlling each identified threat
