         2-1-1 Big Bend iPhone App 

The 2-1-1 Big Bend app provides an immediate connection to 1,200 programs in the Tallahassee, Florida area including, Franklin, Gadsden, Jefferson, Leon, Liberty, Madison, Taylor, and Wakulla Counties.  Users can find information about housing asistance, mental health issues, substance abuse, domestic violence, parenting skills, employment, foodbanks, disaster services and more.

2-1-1 Big Bend is working with the Cold Nights Shelter collaboration, Leon County Emergency Management, local emergency responders and serveral other groups to provide the 24/7 safety net for our community. But we can't do this without your support.  Your donations are important and critical to our existence.

Helpline 2-1-1 counselors answered 2,000 calls and made 2,630 referrals during October.

2-1-1 Big Bend provides Helpline 2-1-1, a 24/7 free, community hotline service offering individual, confidential counseling and human service information.  Information services and other specialized hotlines are also operated by the agency.

Greetings!  ,
Because life is 24/7, so are we. 
Thanks to our dedicated counselors, we will be answering calls to Helpline 2-1-1 throughout the holidays including Christmas and New Years.  Please share the word about our hotline servcies and availability 24/7.  We need your help to increase awareness of our vital services to the community!
This it a final reminder that our experienced trainers will be offering an ASIST training for the community on January 13-14, 2012 at the Early Learning Coalition training room.  The Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training is a nationally recognized program.  15 CEUs will be available to participants in the mental health, counseling and social work fields.  The cost of the training is $150.  For more information, contact outreach@211bigbend.org.  Registration deadline is December 16.

Project Annie Holiday Meals

Project Annie is a grassroots nonprofit organization that will serve our community with a free dinner on Christmas Day 11:00 am - 4:00 pm.  The community wide dinner will take place at Speer's Fishmarket building in Frenchtown at 625 West Forth St. Please call (850) 222-6133 if you plan to attend or need additional information.  Volunteers and donations are always needed.

  

Trinity United Methodist Church 

Trinity UMC provides an annual Christmas dinner, served restaurant style , to persons who are homeless, or who simply want to join other in sharing a traditional holiday dinner.  The church is located at 120 West Park Ave, on the corner of Park Ave and Duval St., across from the public library.  Meals will be served on Christmas Day, starting at Noon and end at 2pm-3pm. Carolers will be present to add to the holiday spirit.

Tabernacle MB Church Community Wide Give-Away

Tabernacle Outreach Ministry presents its Christmas Community Wide Give-Away Saturday December 10th.  The program provides toys, personal care and other items. The event will be held at Tabernacle MB Church, 615 Tuskegee St., near the intersection of Orange Ave and Nims Middle School.  Entrance tickes will be given out starting at 7:00 am. (Not Earlier) and the doors will open at 8:00 am.  The Give Away will last for the first 200 people.

National Community / Neighborhood Exercise Series

                        

On January 28, 2012 neighborhood, community and faith based organizations across the country will have the opportunity to assess their capabilities in preparing for and responding to an Influenza Pandemic by participating in the Formidable Footprint Pandemic Exercise. 

 

There is NO CHARGE for participation in any of the Formidable Footprint exercises.
