2-1-1 Big Bend News November 2010
Dear  ,

Randy Nicklaus, President

Thank you for subscribing to our 2-1-1 Big Bend electronic newsletter.  Let me know if you have feedback or suggestions for future editions.

As we approach the upcoming holidays, our hotlines will be assisting callers who seek Thanksgiving meal sites, Christmas Connection referrals and other seasonal assistance.  If your organization has a special program coming up, please let us know so we can share information about it.

For your information, our monthly Helpline 2-1-1 Snapshot lists the programs we refer to most often and the top requests of our callers. They are always available on our website.

If you are writing a grant proposal and want to know how may referrals we have offered to your agency or specific programs, let us know and we'll share that information with you.

2-1-1 Supports Veterans through its BrAIve Hotline

2-1-1 Big Bend recognizes veterans serving in Afghanistan and Iraq in honor of Veteran's Day.  Since last year, its BrAIve Hotline, 877-BRAIVE-8 (877-272-4838), served 163 military personnel and their families.

Florida is home to 1.8 million military veterans.  There are eleven active military bases and several other military installations.  Both deployment and reintegrating to civilian life creates many unique challenges for these families.  The 2-1-1 Big Bend BrAIve Hotline is part of a multi-tiered system to serve their unmet needs during these transitions.  It benefits veterans and their families by centralizing all the services available with their individual areas.  Click here to learn more.
