FL HIV/AIDS Hotline Provides Help 
2-1-1 Big Bend, Inc. recognizes Dec. 1 as World AIDS Day in its continued commitment to answer calls on the Florida HIV/AIDS Hotline. Funded through a contract with the Florida Department of Health Bureau of HIV/AIDS, the hotline serves as the statewide resource for HIV/AIDS-related information, community referrals and supportive telephone counseling. 100th Oil Spill Distress Call Answered
New Helpline Assists Floridians and Gulf Coast Residents
Last week, 2-1-1 Big Bend received its 100th call from Floridians who are stressed, angry and frustrated from the economic impact of the April 2010 oil spill. The new Oil Spill Distress Helpline launched in October to help people with mental health issues related to the long term impact of the Oil Spill. To date, only 35% of Florida claims have been paid, as families continue to face uncertainty for their holiday plans. Click here to learn more.

Record Number of Vounteers Graduate
Trained Volunteers Offer 10,000 Hours of Service Each Year
In November, 2-1-1 Big Bend had 32 volunteers successfully graduate from its four-month training program. This is the highest number of graduates to complete training since we began tracking in 2002. The next training begins January 2011. Click here to learn more or register.
