Adam and Eve
Poem: Shlomit Cohen-Asif
Translation: Jonathan Paradise 6/1/2012
Adam and Eve never were kids
They were born already grown-up.
They had no grandma who knited them clothes
No grandpa, no mom and no dad.
Instead of brothers and sisters
They had animals. Adam and Eve played hide-and-seek with the snake
In the Garden, they had no toys.
Instead of a ball they threw apples in the air
And played tag with the rain and the wind.
When their two sons were born
Adam told Eve-with a voice so forlorn:
"What a shame we were never kids."
