Come celebrate 25 years of
Rabbi Morris J. Allen and Beth Jacob Congregation creating community together!
On February 10th and 11th, 2012 (17-18 Sh'vat 5772), our congregation will honor Rabbi Allen, Dr. Phyllis Gorin, and our shul. After Kabbalat Shabbat services on Friday eve, February 10th, congregants will gather in each other's homes for Shabbat dinners. All member households will have the chance to welcome guests or to be guests.
Delivering the d'var Torah during Shabbat services on Saturday, February 11th, will be Rabbi B. Elka Abrahamson, President of the Wexner Foundation and former co-senior rabbi at Mount Zion Temple.
Then, motzei Shabbat, come to a dinner and special program, 7:00 p.m., Saturday February 11th, to honor Rabbi Allen, Dr. Phyllis Gorin, and their outstanding leadership contributions to our community. Our special guest speaker will be Samuel Freedman, talking about "The Vital Center in Polarized Times." Mr. Freedman is the religion columnist for the New York Times. He is the author of six books, including Jew Versus Jew, which was awarded a National Jewish Book Award.
