Testing Bill  HB2795
Many of you have heard of the proposed testing bill. If not, go to www.tnhomeed.com to read up on it. Reps had to take their phones off the hook to stop the flood of phone calls. But there may be more calls needed.

The bill is currently scheduled for a re-hearing. Details as well as a CALL TO ACTION is here on

Greetings! Family.

God continues to bless us with improvements this new year. We are excited about our new email exchange service, providing more dependable reception and delivery. Another new service will allow us to send you more updates and information as well as use these new layouts. We hope you enjoy reading them as much as we enjoy creating them.

We love hearing from you. So if you have a topic of interest or idea for our newsletters this year please let us know. Thank you!

2008 Curriculum Fairs are now on our website.
Spring is Coming!
Well-done DocumentaryDon't hesitate to take your classroom out of the house this Spring. Planting starts soon and there is nothing quite like a living biology class. There are some great ideas online. We recommend the simple "see it, then read it" technique, that is... Go out and see it, then off to the library to read it. You can't go wrong when you make education fun and interesting for this beautiful season.

WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU!! We would like to pack our next couple of newsletters with great ideas for spingtime education. Please email us with your ideas or articles for possible inclusion. Thank you!!

Family Retreat Postponed...
With all the in-house improvements coming to HLA this Spring we all decided it was best to post-pone the retreat. We're at the very crucial 5 year mark and things are going really great. However, there are so many things we need to do this Spring in order to really prepare and raise the quality of service. In addition to the new phone systems, email system, web-site revisions, new staff and two new workstations, we will have our first full graduating class this year: That's 412 Graduates to be exact!

We're fast approaching 6500 students, enrolling nearly 300 since the new year. So many people are transferring mid-year, and we like to give them some extra time due to the pressures of changing schools ... and all of life for that matter!

Another reason for postponing the retreat is because the only dates available this year were during the week. Everyone agrees a weekend would be best, so we'll go ahead and reserve some dates for 2009 and 2010 at Fall Creek Falls and keep you posted.
