A Winter Wonderland of Coats Imagine staying at home because you had no coat to wear to school during one of the coldest months the DC Metro area has ever experienced.

Thanks to Neediest Kids, 229 students in Arlington County and 57 Montgomery County students were able go to school, play at recess, and stay warm and healthy. In early January, Neediest Kids delivered 286 brand new coats to these school districts who quickly distributed them to children who had none.

Why Your Donations Matter
Below is an actual email that was sent to one school system's Neediest Kids Coordinator. Of course, Neediest Kids provided the help the student required. The situation is:
- The father is incarcerated
- Mother abandoned the children
- Grandmother is disabled and is trying to get disability via social security
- The entire family leaves with the grandmother's daughter who is the only person who works.
- The request is for one of the grand daughters
I am fully aware that (Neediest Kids) purchase orders are not precipitously distributed. I am sure that the family will appreciate any assistance available.

We are delighted to announce that Scott Brickman, CEO of The Brickman Group, is the new Board Chairman of Neediest Kids. Scott's indefatigable energy and remarkable passion for our mission will help lead Neediest Kids into an exciting new era.
Following in the footsteps of Dr. Ralph W. Shrader, Chairman and CEO of Booz Allen Hamilton, who skillfully led the organization for many years as the Chairman of Neediest Kids, Scott looks forward to working with the staff, board of directors, school partners, and donors to help students succeed in school.
"Neediest Kids helps thousands of children annually, but the need is great. My goal is to grow Neediest Kids so we can provide the basic essentials to even more students in the DC Metro Area," commented Scott. "I am honored to be part of such an outstanding organization."
