Matthew 6:25 and 32-33
Jesus said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (New Revised Standard Version)

Wherever you are reading this email devotional, you are reading it as you begin your week. No doubt, you have many commitments to fulfill this week: family stuff, work deadlines, bills to pay, conflicts to resolve, and finding the rhythm of returning to school after a long spring break. It's easy to get caught up in the details of running from here to there and back again. In the midst of the chaos and important demands, take a moment and consider what it is you are rushing around for - and who you are in relationship to in the process. Is God in the mix? Take a moment to savor God's love for you and let that love fill your life - and flow from your life - today.

Prayer of the Week
Risen and Ever-living Lord Jesus, we praise and thank you for your sacrifice on the cross and glorious Easter victory for us. You came that we might have abundant new life here on earth and the promise of life with you forever in heaven. As we seek to "live like we were dying," fill us with your Living Spirit. Empower us to embrace today, anticipate eternity, and rearrange our priorities according to your priorities for our lives. We pray this in your precious name, Jesus. Amen.

Join a Small Group
Small Groups are encouraged to meet weekly throughout this series.   We are offering an opportunity for everyone to be involved in a small group by holding round table discussions at 9:45 and 11:00 each Sunday in both the Chapel and the Music Room and at 6:30 each Wednesday in the Family Life Center.  These sessions will be facilitated by Sheridan's pastoral staff.   If you have never been in a small group before this is an easy way to meet people in a non threatening way.   If you are interested in joining a small group that meets regularly at another time please contact Kathy Paisley at k.paisley@sheridanlutheran.org.
