Matthew 6:25 and 32-33 Jesus said to his disciples, "Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? For it is the Gentiles who strive for all these things; and indeed your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (New Revised Standard Version)
Wherever you are reading this email devotional, you are reading it as you begin your week. No doubt, you have many commitments to fulfill this week: family stuff, work deadlines, bills to pay, conflicts to resolve, and finding the rhythm of returning to school after a long spring break. It's easy to get caught up in the details of running from here to there and back again. In the midst of the chaos and important demands, take a moment and consider what it is you are rushing around for - and who you are in relationship to in the process. Is God in the mix? Take a moment to savor God's love for you and let that love fill your life - and flow from your life - today.
