Discussion of Patanjali's Yoga Sutras
As yoga teachers, we have potentially read Patanjali's Yoga Sutras anywhere from 5 to 500 times! But as we learn through our asana practice, our personal experience is always evolving and new insights are just around the corner. Remember that is true not only for our physical experiences, but our philosophical experiences as well.
Our YTOC May event is a wonderful opportunity to evolve our philosophical selves. If it's been awhile since you have revisited the eight limbs of Raja Yoga, come quiet your mind and receive these teachings from Swami Dharmananda. Whether you have studied with him before or if this is your first opportunity, you will find your time with him to be heart-opening and inspiring. Please join us in studying the origin of the practice that we all hold so dear; the practice of yoga.
Presenter:
Swami Dharmananda is a preeminent scholar and teacher of the Science of Yoga, Hindu Philosophy, and Comparative Religion. As the Director of the International Vishwaguru Yoga and Meditation Institute (Rishikesh, India), he has given these teachings to students from all over the world for more than 25 years. He is the chief monastic disciple of the late Guru, Shri Vishwaguruji Maharaj. Swamiji's lectures - especially his mode of presentation with humor, stories and anecdotes - has earned him wide acclaim.

PRESIDENT'S CORNER | | Greetings Dear Sweet Yogis!
This is my favorite time of year. The sights, smells and sounds of spring are all around me as take time out of my afternoon to address our wonderful Colorado yoga community. The soothing sounds of the birds singing in the trees. I hear at least four distinct songs being sung off in the distance. The ice cream man's tune is an old familiar one. A young family having fun playing "ring around the rosie" in the yard next to me. My golden retriever soaking up the sun, laying in the green grass after having a nice roll in it. That earthy fresh aroma of spring air. Mother Earth has begun to offer up the new seasons bounty for us. Please take some time to thank her for all she gives us!
The naked earth is warm with Spring, And with green grass and bursting trees Leans to the sun's kiss glorying, And quivers in the sunny breeze. ~Julian Grenfell
We have so many inspiring teachers in our organization and there's a new BLOG entry on our website that tells the story of one of our founding members.
