Yoga Latte's and Wisdom Stones for Teachers.

A  Core Strength Workout and a Warm Restorative Treat

Using the safest mat Pilates, we will have a delicious yoga latte for our core. We will strengthen our hearts and bellies for an hour. We will deepen our asanas by using smooth massage stones for steadiness or stira. Lastly we will experience warm stones on the torso in shavasana. Ahhhhhh! Discussion of props from nature will conclude our sacred time.
Tea following!!!

Location:
Cat's Paw Yoga
303-431-9870
4430 Cody St. Wheat Ridge CO 80033

Enter through the south gate

Come practice in our peaceful, renovated turn-of-the century barn, that was once part of a beet farm in rural Wheat Ridge, Colorado.

Also, the owner of Cat's Paw Yoga, Lisa Griffin Seidel RYT, has a few new zafus available and a cool new label!

A translation of zafu is a cushion for sitting, where za means sitting or "sit" and fu means cushion, bolster, a long pillow or cushion that provides support or strengthen, reinforce, boost, fortify, renew, and

support.

I have come to appreciate the value of using a bolster (zafu) when coming to a place of quiet in my yoga practice. The bolsters pictured here are locally hand-crafted, and stuffed with traditional organic buckwheat hulls. Size is approximately 15" in diameter. We can add dried lavender.

YOU have something to share!
YTOC

 PRESIDENT'S CORNER

I had to surrender my laptop computer for repairs earlier today so wasn't sure if I would be able to get this article written in time for the newsletter or not. Thanks Bill for letting me borrow your laptop tonight. It feels awkward to me to be sitting in front of a Windows machine again. I've really gotten so use to my Mac. It feels like practicing a yoga asana that you have not done in a very long time. The longer I stay with it, the more comfortable it begins to feel.

I hope you all have some very fond memories of 2011. It has been an amazing year for YTOC, beginning the year with our amazing 30th Anniversary Celebration. Other events this year have included an Intro to Ayurveda and Vinyasa,Thai Movement for Couples, Mala Making, Devanagari an Into to Written Sanskrit, Ariel Yoga, Yoga with Weights, Face Yoga, Two Minute Meditation, Yogi Amrit Desai, Experiencing the Prana Vayus, Swami Dharmananda and Yoga Nidra and Restorative Yoga. A BIG THANK YOU  goes out to all of our amazing 2011 event presenters and event hosts. You volunteered your time and space for events this year, and for this we are truly grateful!

The new board of directors held it's very first meeting at the beginning of this month. There was so much energy at that meeting that we decided to get together again in January. Our By-Laws require us to meet every three months, but that just seemed too long between meetings. Our next board meeting is scheduled for Saturday, January 7th at Noon in Arvada. If you are interested I attending the board meeting please let me know and I will get you the details once our location is confirmed. If you have something that you would like to see the YTOC Board of Directors address in 2012 please let me know that as well.

Wishing you all a Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year!

Namaste'

"Bare branches of each tree
on this chilly January morn
look so cold so forlorn.
Gray skies dip ever so low
left from yesterday's dusting of snow.
Yet in the heart of each tree
waiting for each who wait to see
new life as warm sun and breeze will blow,
like magic, unlock springs sap to flow,
buds, new leaves, then blooms will grow."
-  Nelda Hartmann, January Morn
