Experiencing The Five Prana Vayus and Understanding Their Therapeutic Application

Want to step your yoga teaching up a level?

Come take an experiential journey through the five prana vayus; Prana, Apana, Udana, Samana, and Vyana. Prana vayus are the "winds" of our bodies and they are a very powerful and very subtle forces.

With awareness we can quite literally find the flow of prana through the prana vayus! In this workshop, we will tune into these forces through the use of mudras, pranayama, and body awareness.

As a yoga instructor, this workshop will enhance your knowledge of these energy currents, and enable you learn how they assist in yoga as a healing art or create classes to support a specific flow of energy.

Nancy Levenson Presenter:

Nancy Levenson is founder of NamasteWorks Yoga + Wellness, a boutique wellness center offering yoga as a healing art.   A highly regarded PYT, professional yoga therapist, Nancy's mission is helping others restore optimal health through mind, body and spirit practice.

 PRESIDENT'S CORNER

Change is in the Air! The seasons have changed from Summer to Fall and the faces of the YTOC Board of Directors have changed as well.

After ushering in Fall with the amazing sounds of Shantala and a truly blissful yoga practice led by Michelle Corriel & Santosh at the Yoga Rocks the Park finale at Alamo Placitia Park last Sunday, the YTOC Board of Directors gathered for our annual meeting.
Current board members were joined by nominees for new board positions and the following slate of all volunteer candidates was elected:
President: Shari Turney
Vice President and Program Manager: Carrie Sarles-Odom
Secretary: Lisa Griffin-Siedel
Treasurer: Kristi Gall
Website Manager: Casey Feicht
Newsletter Editor: Shannon Fiedler
Membership Manager: Sandy Kline

Jeanne Thornton will serve on the board in the role of Past President during my term in office. Having Jeanne at my side will be a true blessing!  She is an amazing woman and I was honored and humbled when she invited me to take on the role of the Presidency.

As such, I have invited Member-at-Large Alli Brook, who joins us from Salida and Steamboat Springs, to remain on the board in her current position. Her input, coming from outside the Denver area, has been very beneficial to us. I would like to invite other YTOC members who live in outlying areas to contact me about Member-at-Large positions. The role of this position is generally furthering the goals of YTOC, through special projects, developing membership services, listening to membership and communicating their issues, needs and interests to the board.

To our retiring board members;  Kerry Escobado, Michelle Bressette, Karin Bustamante, and Michelle Corriell.. you will be missed!  It was my honor to serve on the YTOC Board of Directors with each and every one of you.

Please take some deep breaths with us as we transition in the new board members. Don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions, comments or concerns.

Yours in Service,
Shari Turney
President Yoga Teachers of Colorado
