Susan Merrill has owned Asana Studio in Golden for eight years.  As time went by, she envisioned that the perfect yoga studio would feel like a home, on a tree-lined street, surrounded by gardens.  It would include places to sit and have tea after class with new friends.  There would be crowds of children, moms, dads, babies, old, and young.

The studio would have high ceilings with natural lighting using lots of windows and sky lights.  The atmosphere would be happy, easy, nurturing.  And all this would be a short walking distance into town.

Susan found just the perfect place in Olde Town Arvada and has materialized her vision.   There are also two more rooms for massages and other treatments.  The old bungalow at the corner of 57th and Yukon has been the perfect place to reclaim and build something wonderful.

YTOC is excited to have Asana Yoga Studio, Olde Town Arvada hosting our January 30th Anniversary Celebration.

                                              TIME

As a young college student in the late '60's, I came across a quotation that changed the way I've

thought about "time" ever since.  I've seen it expressed a few different ways over the years, but

the essence remains the same.  Here's the gist:

"Time is something Man invented to keep everything from happening

              all at once".

Our agreement in how we order and organize "time" generally serves us well, allowing us to

function together in community and society.  We acknowledge times of beginnings and endings,

growth and transitions, often with festivity and celebration and gathering together.  We lament

about the loss of "times past".  We allow our imaginations to visualize those times that lie

ahead.  We spend a lot of time thinking about time, often complaining that we don't have

enough of it.

At this time of the New Year, we collectively celebrate the world over as one year ends and

a new one begins.  We say, "Happy New Year" to strangers.  We agree to agree that this

time holds the promise of better times ahead.  There is an air of expectancy and hope expressed through ritual and celebration, with champagne and bonfires and lighted balls that "fall", counting down the moments until the NEW, and all the potentiality inherent in it, arrives. Together, we begin again.

It's a good time.  NOW is always a good time--in fact, it's the only time we have.  The question

is, how do we choose to spend it?

"Presence is always about here and now; this very moment and this very place.  Presence is never about another time, another place somewhere else...The journey of mindfulness does not take you from here to there, it takes you from here to here, from this moment to this moment to the one that follows next."

                                                                                --Will Johnson

As we begin again, may we each and all remain very present as the New Year unfolds before us, and may we journey together in Peace.

Namaste',

Jeanne

p.s.   I'm sure hoping you'll join us for a GOOD TIME at our 30th Anniversary Pary on January 29th!
