Idealist, Cynic or Realist--Which Are YOU?
"An idealist believes the short run doesn't count. A cynic believes the long run doesn't matter. A realist believes that what is done or left undone in the short run determines the long run."
--Sydney Harris, columnist
Historically, summertime has meant a bit of a lull in YTOC
activities. Not so THIS summer! We have a lot going on and we hope you'll be a part of it all. We are very excited to
offer you an evening with Pandit Rajmani Tigunait, PhD on July 15. Be there if you can be. This is an opportunity not to be missed, to study with a world renowned scholar and teacher of yogic philosophy and practices.
And for a wonderful time of fellowship and networking, we hope you'll plan now to join us at Debi Tepper's elegant home for a fun potluck vegetarian dinner and a showing of the acclaimed documentary, "Yoga Unveiled," which Deepak Chopra has called "...the most comprehensive overview of the yoga tradition in its true essence...an inspirational triumph". Plan to be a part of this casual, social and enlightening event on Saturday August 21. Don't miss the chance to meet and visit with your fellow yoga teachers, eat some great vegetarian food and discuss this landmark documentary film.
Our NEW WEBSITE is being developed and will be launched late this summer. Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Kerry Escobado, Shari Tepper and Alli Brook, this long-awaited improvement will greatly enhance YTOC's presence in the global yoga community and YOUR website presence in Colorado is finally ready to roll! We think you're going to be very pleased with its increased functionality and ease of use.
We'll be holding our ANNUAL MEETING on Saturday September 11. Location will be announced in next month's newsletter. This is where your voting rights get exercised to strengthen and direct YTOC's future. There will also be a brief program presentation after the business meeting.
And, finally, plans are underway for a great autumn celebration of YTOC's 30th ANNIVERSARY, honoring our founding members and the beginnings of YTOC. Please read Program Manager Angela Kljunich's announcement and request for volunteer assistance in creating this stellar event. We DO NEED YOUR HELP!
"Knowing is not enough; we must apply.
Willing is not enough; we must do."
--Goethe
"If there's something special you want to do, NOW is the time.
If you want to make a difference in the world, NOW is the
time. Don't be fooled into thinking you should wait until you
are older or wiser or more 'secure'. It doesn't work that way.
The wisdom will come. The security will come. But first
you must begin your adventure."
--Ron Atchison
I shall do the work it takes to offer all that I am...
Namaste' and HAPPY SUMMER!
