Dear YTOC Members,
Did you know September is Yoga month? All around town studios are celebrating with specials offerings. As always, check out the wonderful events hosted by our member studios and YTOC members.
Please scroll down to see the community events or visit the YTOC events page for the most updated listing. In October YTOC is hosting our Annual Meeting, member are highly encourage to attend. You can be a part of the YTOC discussion and make a significant contribution to the YTOC organization. Board elections are on the YTOC agenda. The October YTOC event will immediately follow annual meeting at Whole Yoga. YTOC Board Meeting When: Sunday, October 4th, 12:30 - 1:30 PM Location: St. Mark's Coffee House 2019 E 17th Ave. Denver 80206 Board positions are held by wonderful volunteers who, over the years, have given many selfless hours of their time to continue growing and guiding YTOC. I highly encourage you to get to know or even, if your ready to take an active role, get on board and join the YTOC Board! We have several roles that need to be filled from Member at Large to the role of Secretary. Board members should be available to attend board meetings scheduled every other month and participate in organizing and having tons of fun meeting fellow yogis while supporting YTOC. Mark you calendar's for this annual Board meeting on October 4th, 2009.

YTOC CPR Traning - Change in Date

Our September CPR Certification course has been rescheduled to November!
Time: Saturday, November 7th from 10am-2pm
Location: 645 Acoma Street, on the Denver Health campus
Pre-registration is required: Check should be made out to: Denver Health Nursing Education and mailed to YTOC at PO Box 6849, Denver, CO 80206. Registrations must be received no later than October 27th.
Cost: $29
All attendees will receive the American Heart Association's Heartsaver Certification. The certification is valid for two years. This course includes CPR for adults, children, and infants, as well as training on the Automated Electronic Defibrillator (AED). This event is limited to YTOC members only. All participants must pay a $29 registration fee. Rebecca Stark will be on hand to share her insights as a yoga teacher as a teacher Anatomy & Physiology to nursing students at Concorde Career College.
Rebecca Stark: is the current Membership Co-ordinator for YTOC. She started teaching
yoga in 1999 and currently teaches private lessons in the South Metro
area. She started taking yoga 18 years ago from Dot Dulaney, who
studied under Adeline Morris, Denver's first yoga teacher. Rebecca's
cat, Emmy, often joins in on yoga lessons. Harrison, the new puppy, is
just learning the joys of yoga.

Healing through Movement and Stillness:
A Journey through the Chakras
with Margie KrestWhen: Sunday, October 4th, 2-4 PM Location: Whole Yoga Studio, 1735 E. 17th Ave (17th & Williams), Denver, CO Fee: Free to YTOC Members, otherwise $20 for Non-Members In this workshop, we will journey through the energy of our Chakras, first through the movement of YogaDance and then through the stillness of Yoga Nidra. Derived from Kripalu Yoga, YogaDance is a unique approach to movement, combining yoga, breath, and user-friendly dance. Originally called DansKinetics, YogaDance is a form of "spiritual aerobics." While moving through the energy of each chakra, we will celebrate our bodies as we awaken our inner rhythms. Both inter- and intra-personal, YogaDance will help you feel your creativity, move into your power, open your heart and listen to your intuition. The only requirement is that you honor your body and spirit and explore your own beauty and energy. As our physical movements quiet into savasana, we will again explore the energy of each chakra through Swami Satyananda Saraswati's Yoga Nidra-- guided relaxation. Our journey will bring you to a place of deep relaxation and allow you to visualize the beauty and power of each chakra as you heal, renew and rejuvenate your soul. Margie Krest will lead this inspiring workshop. Margie is a CYT & RYT, as well as certified in Yoga Nidra and Kripalu YogaDance.
