A call for volunteers ...

Dear YTOC Members,

No too long ago, I was saying hello and introducing myself as the new YTOC President.   And now, not too far from today, I'll be saying good-bye as your President.  YTOC Board positions are two years terms.  As you may know, Yoga Teachers of Colorado was founded in 1982 and continues today as a professional association providing fellowship for yoga teachers, yoga studios, and persons interested in yoga. Our goal is to disseminate information, promote education, lobby and inform the public about yoga.

Board positions are held by wonderful volunteers who, over the years, have given many selfless hours of their time to continue growing and guiding YTOC.  I highly encourage you to get to know or even, if your ready to take an active role, get on board and join the YTOC Board!   We have several roles that need to be filled from Member at Large to the role of Secretary.  Board members should be available to attend board meetings scheduled every other month and participate in organizing and having tons of fun meeting fellow yogis while supporting YTOC.  Mark you calendar's for this annual Board meeting on October 4th, 2009.

In the meantime, I hope see you at the next upcoming YTOC events.  On Saturday August 29, 2009 we meet at The Enchanting Mountain Moon Yoga Studio in Winter Park, Colorado for chanting.  In September, YTOC is hosting a CPR training!  See details below.

There are lots of wonderful events happening around town hosted by our member studios. Please scroll down to see the community events or visit the YTOC events page for the most updated listing.

See you soon,
Karin Bustamante

7.    Find new classes and teaching opportunities on our Message Board

YTOC Library

Did you know that YTOC has a library, and that we have many great items for you to check out?  If you are a YTOC member and wish to borrow any library item, e-mail Susan Merrill at asanasue@yahoo.com, or make arrangements at one of our meetings.

YTOC now has most of the Back Issues of Yoga Journal from 1990-2001!

We can share back issues with you. For example, maybe you want an in-depth analysis of an asana or a style of yoga you are researching. We can help you locate that issue. You can use this service just as you use the library for renting out video and audio tapes. Please go to the library page of the YTOC website (www.ytoc.org) for a listing of our library materials.
