Become familiar or revisit the story of the Mahabharata, one of india's greatest poems.  This epic has helped shape the practice of Yoga as we know it today.  Understanding how this story impacts yoga helps every yoga teacher touch base with the roots of the practice.  Hansa Knox, Owner and Director of PranaYoga and Ayurveda Mandala, will guide us through asana and pranayama practice as we experience the story of the Manabharata first hand.  Share an afternoon with fellow yogis and join us at the Mandala for this fun filled, interactive story telling.

Restorative Yoga with Kerry Escobado, RYT

Saturday, October 11, 2008

1:00-3:00 pm

Harmony Yoga

*
This program is free to members and 20$ if a not member.

Restorative yoga is like the cool evening breeze after a sweltering summer day.  Opposite to stress and the antidote to switching off the fast pace go-go-go and do-do-do lifestyle, restorative yoga teachers us how to physically rest and mentally rejuvenate.  Restorative yoga provides the individual the opportunity to experience the essence of yoga, no matter the overall health.  This workshop will touch upon the foundation of restorative yoga and provide instruction on how to use restorative poses during savasana.

Benefits of restorative yoga can be helpful to people experiencing life changing events, to bring the body back to its state of homeostasis.  A s the holidays approach and bring additional stress, there's no better time to add a restorative yoga asana to your class or personal practice.

Kerry Escobado, RYT, is a certified Relax & Renew Restorative Yoga Teacher and received her training and certification from Judith Lasater in 2007.  Kerry teaches restorative yoga at Harmony Yoga, classical hatha yoga at Denver Health Hospital and is a board member of Yoga Teachers of Colorado.  Kerry is currently pursing her MA in Education and Instructional Design from the University of Colorado Denver.

You can use this service just as you use the library for renting out video and audio tapes. Please go to the library page of the YTOC website (www.ytoc.org) for a listing of our library materials.
