From the Executive Director

What do you think when someone says "The Sky is the Limit." I think about possibility. Opportunity. Change for the better. About enabling people to do and be their very best. "The Sky is the Limit" is about engaging the community in making the place we live and work better. A cleaner environment, meaningful, well-paying jobs and stronger relationships. "The Sky is the Limit" is big. There are no boundaries. We chose "The Sky is the Limit" as the theme of our 3rd Annual Green Awards Gala to inspire others about possibilities for the future and to celebrate examples of innovation and leadership. Our grand celebration will honor seven "green champions" selected from nearly 100 nominations in and around Montgomery County and Northwest DC and showcase other local solutions through a unique display of a city in the future. We reach great heights through active participation and dedication from every corner of our community. Our Gala will be a celebration of all that and more. We can't say enough about the generous support of our sponsors. This is our most important fundraising event of the year, and their commitment to green allows us to keep working together to do the impossible. Please join us for the festivities as we soar high to recognize and honor the accomplishments of those committed individuals, businesses, non-profits, and communities who are taking steps to better the planet. "The Sky is the Limit" embodies them all -- leaders in OUR community who are making an impact. |

The Bethesda Green event will feature a celebration of the expansion of the Bethesda Green Business Incubator, its new companies, company successes and new programs to support green entrepreneurs. And it will feature a program of entrepreneurs pitching their business plans and a panel of experts to evaluate and improve their presentations. Perfect Settings: The green choice for caterers
by Lori Hill
Peter Grazzini, the owner of Perfect Settings, is just like any other corporate head: he is constantly looking to save money for his $14 million dollar company based in Landover, MD. But for the past four years, he has been constantly thinking of new and innovative ways to reduce his environmental impact while also saving his company many thousands of dollars each year.
 | | Peter Grazzini |
Since 1998, Perfect Settings has been providing gorgeous linen and premium and contemporary flatware, china, glassware and other tabletop accessories to caterers, event planners, venues and private individuals in the Washington, DC metropolitan area and throughout the United States.
So what prompted Peter to go green? The environmental conditions he observed while on a buying trip to China in October 2008 so disturbed him that he has been trying to lessen his company's impact on the planet ever since.
