President's Message

As this year draws to a close and I look back on our accomplishments, I am reminded of Aristotle's words "Where your talents and the needs of the world cross lies your calling". If it weren't for the passion that we, and our partners, have in strengthening California's communities with affordable housing and resident services, we would not have gone Above and Beyond the goals we set for ourselves one year ago. The combination of dedication, inspiration and heart has created a ripple that extends far beyond what we had planned.
Housing with HEART has improved our communities with programs and all day events that have attracted over hundreds of participants. HwH has also opened a fourth community center in Irvine for the 91 households living at The Arbor at Woodbury. I am additionally proud to announce the creation of a new Advisory Board made up of industry leaders and community members which will further support the foundation of Jamboree. In securing our continued success, staff contributed countless hours working to insure that funding for affordable housing continues to be a priority here in California and the nation. Our Asset Management team successfully oversaw the ongoing operations of 53 properties. Jamboree currently has over $250 Million of affordable housing development in the construction pipeline with six new projects breaking ground in 2010.
These accomplishments reflect Jamboree's ability to pull together and weather one of the most trying economic storms this nation has faced in decades. Our spirit is fueled as we look forward to continuing our mission to improve California's communities by affecting the lives of those who need a stable living environment. We anticipate 2010 will be an exciting year as we highlight the ripple effect we have had on those we serve as we celebrate our 20th Anniversary.
