PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Jamboree is weathering the economic storm of a tumultuous year.  We look back with pride on our 2008 accomplishments.  Thanks to our partners, friends and associates who continue to help us fulfill our mission to provide opportunities through the homes we build and the services we provide for working families, seniors and those with special needs throughout California.

Just a reminder our offices will be closed from December 24 until January 1,
so our staff can enjoy the holidays with friends and family.  On behalf of the
staff and board, we wish you a joyous holiday season and a peaceful and
prosperous New Year!

ABOUT COMMUNITY REINVESTMENT...
Recent coordinated media and public efforts place blame for the current financial crisis on the Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) of 1977.  However, the most damaging sub-prime lending occurred between 2003 and 2007.  Only 25 percent of sub-prime loans were covered by the CRA.  If appropriate regulation such as the CRA had been applied to independent mortgage companies and other non-bank financial institutions, it is likely today's financial landscape would look much different.

Jamboree supports the National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC), along with a coalition of civil rights, consumer, community development and housing groups in their recent joint statement emphasizing that failed regulatory oversight is the real source of the current crisis.

WHAT'S NEW...
Ceres Court Grand Opening

Ceres Grand Opening

In September, community leaders, residents,     Jamboree staff and partners gathered to celebrate  the grand opening of Ceres Court, a new affordable housing community for 20 families in Fontana.  Jamboree's Resident Services Manager Cruz Avila highlighted Jamboree's Housing with HEART (Helping Educate, Activate and Respond Together) program, which will provide services such as after-school tutoring and employment counseling to the residents of all three Jamboree properties in the Inland Empire at Ceres Court's Education and Community Center, a 3,250 square-foot facility equipped with new laptop computers donated by Tyson Jacobson of Advent Construction.

Do you have computers to donate?  We need new or like-new computers for several of our community computer rooms.  If interested, please contact Cruz Avila at cavila@jamboreehousing.com.
