IPL Photo Rejuvenation |
|
You wanted it and we listened . . .
Introducing IPL Photo Rejuvenation Treatments at Fair Oaks Skin Care Center. Prevention magazine listed IPL Photo rejuvenation as one of the top, non-invasive cosmetic procedures to treat:
- Brown spots
- Hyperpigmentation, such as freckles
- Sun-damaged skin
- Broken blood vessels
- Increased collagen
- Improved skin tone and elasticity
- Pore Reduction
The IPL works by emitting a broad spectrum of light that targets brown spots and reddish areas. The heat from the laser also spurs new collagen production, which leads to plumping of fine lines and wrinkle reduction. IPL can be used on the face, neck, chest and hands. More than one treatment is recommended to yield the best results.
An "IPL" is a beautiful thing ... this Intense light therapy will take years off your skin and even out skin tone. It is one of the safest and most effective ways to reverse photo-damage, fill lines and wrinkles, reduce scars and promote great skin health! If you haven't tried an IPL (Photofacial) don't wait! Young or mature, this treatment will enhance and protect your skin.
Call us today to schedule your sessions of IPL treatments to ease the tell-tale signs of aging.

| New Warnings about Indoor Tanning |
Statement from AADA Regarding Archives of Dermatology Study on Teen Tanning Access
From David M. Pariser, MD, FAAD, president, American Academy of Dermatology Association:
Schaumburg, ILL (Sep 21, 2009) - This study adds to the mountain of evidence that indoor tanning should be restricted for those under 18. Regardless of the current parental consent and accompaniment restrictions in some states, this study shows young people have alarming access to artificial UV radiation, more than double the FDA's recommended limit for first-week frequency. | Cold Weather Skin Care |
Colder months bring a sigh of relief to many from the heat, humidity, sweaty conditions of summer. But the cold brings on it's own share of worries. Skin reacts to cold rather quickly. It starts to dry much faster, looks more lifeless and can start to flake. Proper care of your skin before the cold actually begins, can strike out these problems before they start to surface.
Winter Skin Care Tips:
Ask your dermatologist or aesthetician for advice on your current skin care regimen and the skin care products you should be using.
Apply Sunscreen - Sunscreens are not just for the summertime. Winter air and sun with snow glare can damage your skin. Use a broad-spectrum spf for the face and hands. The key is to re-apply frequently if you are outside for a long time.
Massage your face well since it helps to stimulate blood circulation and help keep the skin younger and healthier. The more you massage your skin, the more hydrated the skin continues to be.
Hydrate your skin more often. Stay away from alcohol-based toners and clay masques which tend to draw moisture out of the face.
Humidifiers - in the home create more moisture in the air, which helps to prevent your skin from drying out. Don't forget your lips. The best way to hydrate your lips is with a lip balm. Balms that contain cocoa butter extracts and oils are ideal for winter months. Your eating habits and intake of vitamins and other nutrients also affect the look of your skin. Eat a balanced diet with sufficient vitamins necessary for your skin. Vitamins like A, B complex, C & E are necessary for maintaining a healthy skin. Eating fresh vegetables and fruits is the simple way of supplying these vitamins for your diet. Avoid fast foods which are not very healthy and lead to a number of health complications. Don't forget to drink water (8 glasses per day).
Avoid super hot baths.
Yes, a hot bath after a fun day out in the cold feels great. But the intense heat of a hot shower or bath breaks down the lipid barriers in the skin which can lead to a loss of moisture. You are better off with warm water. A lukewarm bath with oatmeal can help relieve skin that is so dry it becomes itchy.
Remember to periodically reapply your moisturizer.
