Take Action: Ryan Budget Update
Thank you for your calls to prevent the Ryan budget from cutting our nation's anti-hunger programs. Four out of five Oregon Representatives voted against it! Unfortunately, it passed the House and now it goes to the Senate. Your voice is more important than ever.

Thousands lose Unemployment benefits in April
Congress recently passed legislation that changed the Extended Benefits (EB) program, causing more than 8,000 long-term unemployed Oregonians to lose their benefits on April 10, 2012.

This loss of income will likely mean many more Oregonians will need to rely on assistance programs like SNAP and TANF to provide for their most basic needs.

Oregon no longer qualified for the EB program under the new law when its unemployment rate dropped below 9%. Another change will take place later this year when the Emergency Unemployment Compensation (EUC) program will be shortened. That change will affect all states. Read more...
A Big Thank You!
picnic Thank you to Meyer Memorial Trust for a significant commitment to our work. A recently announced 2-year grant will allow us to strengthen statewide partnerships among groups working to address root causes of hunger and poverty.

Last week our Child Nutrition "Roadshow" in Lincoln City was a great success- thanks in large part to Surftides Hotel! We highly recommend their meeting space and catering, and greatly appreciate their generosity.
