We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual who is passionate about eliminating the root causes of hunger to join our child nutrition outreach team.
The Child Nutrition Outreach Specialist will help decrease childhood hunger in Oregon by improving utilization of the federally-funded Summer Food Service Program and Afterschool Meals and Snack Program. | Action needed: Child Nutrition Reauthorization | |
Recent information reveals it is unlikely that a free-standing bill, like Senate Bill 3307, will be acted on during Congress' Lame Duck session. The more likely scenario for passage is to include it in an omnibus bill that covers a variety of funding priorities.
This is a great opportunity for child nutrition reauthorization to be passed this session while also restoring proposed cuts to SNAP.
Action:
1. If your Member of Congress is one of the 106 who signed a letter in August opposing SNAP cuts, thank them for their support and urge them to tell the White House to work with House leadership to pass child nutrition reauthorization without cutting SNAP benefits.
