 Learn about Randonee Ski Racing - Ski Mountaineering
Come join Bryan Wickenhauser, member of the 2008 US Ski Mountaineering Team, and Danny Suter of Boulder Performance Network for an evening of video, slides, and discussion about the randonee ski racing scene in Colorado, the US and Europe. Ski mountaineering (rando racing) combines the aerobic endurance of skinning up hill with the technical skills of big mountain ski descents. Colorado is home to one of the most active racing series in the country, the COSMIC Ski Mountaineering Cup. In addition to video coverage of the big Euro races, Brain & Danny will share experience with the training, the gear and how to get involved in the local racing scene.
BNS has wax clinics every Thursday night at BNS from 6-8PM. Bring in your skis, get some help figuring out waxing and learn something new. |

One of the major focuses of the US Ski Team's Whistler Ski Service Development Project that I've been working on is finding a way to make classic skis work in a place where conditions are nightmarishly difficult more often than not.
I can't go into great detail because we're pretty secretive about our findings, at least until after the games in 2010. But I'm not spilling any great secrets to acknowledge that hairies are an important tool at the Callaghan Valley Olympic Venue. My trip to the Fischer factory in Austria in June and my meetings with the race department people there made it abundantly clear that the world is aware they will need to have their hairies skis ready to go.

Winter Training Group Filling Up Rapidly
We're trying to keep our winter training group simple this year and we only have three coaches available, so we're beginning to fill up. We do have a few spots left, so if you have not signed up and paid yet, please get your name in so you don't miss out and we can schedule coaches and focus on preparing our training sessions rather than dealing with administration.

Do the Swedish Vasaloppet in Style! The Swedish Vasaloppet trip Feb 24 - Mar 2, 2009 includes 6 days preparing for the race with advice and coaching from previous winner Henrik Eriksson and BNS owner Nathan Schultz. With accomodation in the center of all of the action and race support from a crew of local Swedes, we will have a great time doing the biggest and most celebrated ski race in the world.
This trip includes all ground transport, lodging, meals, coaching, waxing, race support and race entry fee. It does not include airfare.
