Stings the Snake
Hitting shelves this month, the December issue of Motor Trend magazine has a little surprise for Shelby GT500 Super Snake lovers.
MT's cover story features a three-way "musclecar tuner showdown" between Shelby's Super Snake, a Speedfactory Challenger and our HPE650 Camaro (the same car featured in last month's issue of Hot Rod).
We'll let the article and videos do the talking, but needless to say, there are some seething snake owners and blue oval enthusiasts out there who didn't expect they'd be watching a Hennessey Camaro's taillights walking away from them (both on the strip and through the twisties).

SEMA 2009 Roundup
The 2009 SEMA show in Las Vegas wrapped up last week, and if you didn't know any better, you'd think it was a 2010 Camaro event that invited a few extra displays to help fill the space of the massive Las Vegas Convention Center.
Everywhere you looked the Camaro was being featured with a wide range of visual and performance modifications. Everything from outrageous body kits, paint schemes and giant wheels to superchargers, turbo setups and various tuner cars could be found at SEMA.
For many, it was an eye-jarring experience.
Forgoing the "hey look at me.... PLEASE!!!" approach, Hennessey Performance represented the 2010 Camaro with our HPE700 in the Mobil 1 booth. It's clean looks and monstrous 725 hp LS9 made for a favorite combo for many.
Autoblog said it best: "We like subtle and we like power. But at SEMA the two are usually mutually exclusive. Usually. After laying eyes and hands all over the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro HPE700 LS9 and talking at length with John Hennessey, we think we've found our favorite Chevy of the show."

Over at the Hyundai booth, our Tuner School students were displaying their 2010 Genesis "Carbon Coupe" featuring a custom 500 horsepower turbo system, lowered suspension, big Brembo brakes, Savini wheels and a full-car vinyl wrap that gave the entire car a carbon fiber look and enhanced the body lines with its subtle highlighting:
We even had one of our customers -- Mr. Larry Dye -- bring his Cyber Gray HPE650 Camaro for the Meguiars Car Crazy display!

Hennessey Cadillac V700
Goes 185 mph at TX Mile, Runs a 11.07 1/4 Mile & Frightens OnStar
all in One Weekend!
 Within a matter of days after delivery, John Hennessey's personal 2010 Cadillac CTS-V was swiftly upgraded to a , tuned and putting down a hefty 660 horsepower to the wheels and thundering like a full-on racecar with its track-only exhaust dumps.
First, it knocks out an incredible 185.3 mph standing mile at the Fall 2009 Texas Mile, then backs it up two days later with a 1/4 mile shot out of the hole so aggressive the car altered OnStar!
It seems pulling nearly a full g off the line is enough sudden forward motion to spook the car into thinking it had been in a rear-end collision.
The video of this 11.07 second run (at a wild 128 mph!) and the resulting guest appearance by OnStar spread like wildfire once it hit YouTube, being picked up and passed along by a number of sites like Autoblog, Motor Trend and other automotive blogs and forums.
All that attention was good enough to land the OnStar video among the top in the Autos & Vehicles section of YouTube!
Rest assured, there will be more Cadillac V700 videos on their way, but we'll have to wait and see if OnStar decides to make any more unexpected cameos.
