Handling Rounding Issues in Excel

One of the more frustrating aspects of working in Excel is how the application sometimes appears to add values together incorrectly, providing results that appear to be incorrect by very small amounts. In this tip, we will explore the source of these types of errors and seek solutions to this issue.

Is Your Internet Provider Choking your Connection Speed?

For various reasons, Internet Service Providers (ISPs) sometimes manipulate internet connections, including controlling the speed of their networks. If you are curious as to whether your ISP is throttling your connection speed, you may wish to take advantage of a test provided by the Glasnost project.

Managing the Auto-Complete Option in Outlook 2010

In Outlook 2010, Auto-Complete is the feature that suggests email addresses as you type in data in the To, Cc, and Bcc fields of a message. While Auto-Complete is usually a useful tool, your Auto-Complete List can become so full that wading through the entries can be more of a drain in productivity than a boost. In this tip, you will learn how to manage the Auto-Complete option in Outlook 2010.

  Technology Past and Future

Last month, we discussed some of the technologies that affected us significantly in 2011. The five items reviewed were 1) 2012 - The Year of the Tablet, 2) Windows 7 Gains Momentum, 3) The Fog Lifts from the Cloud, 4) Collaboration Everywhere, and 5) Security Concerns Abound. This month, we shift the focus and look into the future to discuss the technologies that will have a major impact in 2012.
