Employing New PivotTable Options in Excel 2010

Significant additions to PivotTables in Excel 2010 include the ability to change how percentage calculations display. More specifically, users now have the options of showing data as a percentage of the parent row total, percentage of the parent column total, and percentage of parent total.

Libraries - One of the Best New Features in Windows 7

New in Windows 7, Libraries make it easier to find, work with, and organize files scattered across your PC or network. A library makes it easy to search one place so that you find things faster and get more done. With Libraries, a file or folder can literally be in two places at the same time because Libraries are a means for aggregating documents and files from multiple locations as if they were located in a single folder. Think of libraries as virtual folders, without the physical limitations of ordinary folders.

Working with Two QuickBooks Files at the Same Time

For those users of QuickBooks Accountant 2011 or QuickBooks Accountant Enterprise 11.0 who maintain data in multiple QuickBooks data files, it is now possible to work in two data files simultaneously. When doing so, one of the files will be designated the primary file and the other file will be designated the secondary file.

  Reducing Spreadsheet Risk

It is a given that Excel is everywhere. We use it to analyze data, prepare financial statements, create budgets and forecasts, even to manage our NCAA March Madness office pools. Given the ubiquitous nature of Excel and the extent to which it is utilized in organizations of all sizes, it is surprising that more attention is not paid to the issue of auditing and validating worksheets to ensure that the results presented are, in fact, correct.
