IRS Releases 2010 Filing Season Statistics

Through April 9, 2010, the IRS received and processed fewer individual income tax returns than in the comparable period from the previous year, but average refunds to taxpayers increased by 9.1%, according to statistics published by the Service.

Office 2010 Hits RTM Milestone

While many accountants were concerned with other events on April 15, Takeshi Numoto, a Corporate Vice President at Microsoft, announced that Office 2010, SharePoint 2010, Visio 2010, and Project 2010 reached the release-to-manufacture (RTM) milestone. RTM is the final pre-release engineering milestone of an application and means that an application is now in the production phase.
