Creating Reversing Journal Entries in QuickBooks
QuickBooks Premier and QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions
contain a feature that allows users to create journal entries that
automatically reverse on the first day of the following month. Such entries can
be particularly useful when needing to book an accrual or deferral and then
desiring that transaction to be reversed in the following period.
Improving Excel Accuracy with the Evaluate Formula Tool
Spreadsheet errors are the bane of every accountant who uses
Excel for financial and/or operating reporting.
Unfortunately, study after
study continues to report spreadsheet error rates at epidemic levels, thus
compelling accountants to find a way to identify and correct such errors in the
Excel workbooks used in their organizations. Fortunately, Excel's Evaluate
Formula tool can ease the burden of identifying the specific portion
of a formula that is causing a formula to calculate incorrectly.
Comparing Multiple Documents for Changes in Word
Have you ever had multiple versions of what is essentially
the same Word document and needed to know if both versions were exactly the same? Word's Compare
function makes quick and easy work of identifying changes that exist between
two versions of a Word document and allows you to accept or reject changes, as
appropriate.

MIS Group Ceases Operations
Management Information Services, Inc./MIS Group
announced that effective July 6, 2009 it will cease all business operations.
"As a result of the current economic crisis, the lack of available credit
and market circumstances beyond our control, we unfortunately are not able to
be viable as a business and continue to service our customers", stated
Robert Muir, Chief Executive Officer.

Intuit Acquires Pay Cycle
Intuit Inc. has completed its acquisition of PayCycle, Inc. PayCycle, based in Palo Alto,
Calif., is a leader in online payroll for small businesses, accountants and
financial institutions and serves more than 85,000 small businesses.
