Navigate Large Word Documents More Efficiently with Document Maps
When working with a large Microsoft Word document, navigating through the document can be a tedious chore. Fortunately, a Document Map provides a very efficient means of solving this problem.

One Click Access to Scenario Manager Assumptions
Scenario Manager is a favorite tool of many Excel power-users to manage various sets of assumptions in a worksheet. By using Scenario Manager, users are relieved of maintaining multiple versions of a worksheet or workbook to account for various models such as "best case", "worst case", or "most likely case."
For those already familiar with Scenario Manager, one-click access to Scenario Manger assumptions can be achieved by adding the Scenario Gallery command to the Quick Access Toolbar (QAT) in Excel 2007.
Format Date Axis Labels in Excel PivotCharts
Excel PivotCharts are used increasingly as a means of assisting others in understanding both financial and operational data. PivotCharts are simply visual representations of PivotTables and, in fact, Excel PivotCharts are inextricably linked to an underlying PivotTable.
One of the challenges some have had with PivotCharts is formatting date axis labels. These labels cannot be formatted in the PivotChart.

Survey Reveals Technology Used by Accountants

In December of 2008, K2 Enterprises conducted a survey of technology in use by accountants. The survey was sent to approximately 5,000 CPAs engaged in public accounting. The focus of the survey was to ascertain the technology in use by accountants today, along with plans for deploying technology over the next twelve months and the types of technology recommended to clients.
Among the findings of the survey were:
- 97% of CPA firm small business clients utilize some form of accounting software.
- 81% of the respondents reported that their firm has recommended accounting software to small business clients in the preceding twelve months.
- 48% of the respondents reported that their firm used one or more hosted solutions or software-as-a-service applications (Saas), but only 19% have recommended hosted solutions to their clients.
One of the key takeaways from the responses and comments gathered during the survey seems to be that CPAs are not shy about implementing technology.

Apple Netbook?
Netbooks - small, inexpensive, lightweight computers - are one of the bright spots in hardware sales today. Computer makers such as HP, Toshiba, and Asus are all experiencing significant growth in this market. Intel CEO Paul Otellini said that he expects netbook sales to double in 2009 as end-users seek the ultimate in mobility.
Against this backdrop, Apple Chief Operating Officer Tim Cook offered the following comments on netbooks in a recent quarterly conference call with industry analysts.
"For us, it's about doing great products. And when I look at what is being sold in the netbook space today, I see cramped keyboards, terrible software, junky hardware, very small screens, and just not a consumer experience...
