Generating Departmental and Fund Balance Sheets in
Quickbooks

Books users have long utilized QuickBooks' Class tracking feature to generate income statements on departmental, fund, divisional, location, or other segmented bases. However, Class tracking has not provided an solution for generating balance sheets at the same levels, forcing QuickBooks users to develop workarounds, including extensively modifying the Chart of Accounts. For those using the Intuit Statement Writer (ISW) add-on for QuickBooks Premier Accountant Edition 2009 or QuickBooks Enterprise Solutions v.9, segmented balance sheets are standard fare.
