Convert Word Docs to Fill-in PDF Forms

Many organizations have a number of forms based in Microsoft Word and would like to convert these forms to fill-in PDF forms. Among the advantages of PDF forms are the relative ease of securing the form and its contents, the ability to automate distributing the form and collecting responses, and the potential to import form responses directly into other applications, including Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks.  Learn how to easily convert an existing Word form to a fill-in PDF form.

Ease the Transition to
Office 2007

Office 2007 offers users many new outstanding features for improved productivity and many accountants have recently converted to Office 2007 or will be doing so in the very near future. However, without adequate training, users may struggle with the transition to Office 2007. To ease the transition, download and install the "Get Started Tabs" for Word 2007, Excel 2007, and PowerPoint 2007.  The Get Started Tabs available from Microsoft provide access to resources to get Office 2007 users up to speed as quickly as possible.

Accountants Face Security Challenges in 2009

DataSecurity

Data security is 2009
Top Technology Initiative!

In addition to the state of the economy, data security ranks as a primary concern of accountants in all areas of the profession. According to the AICPAs recently published "2009 Top Technology Initiatives" (TTI)  survey results, the three top technology initiatives that accountants will face over the next twelve to eighteen months are directly related to data security, and a fourth security item makes the list in the seventh position.

These findings, coupled with continually escalating security breach notification laws and recent IRS actions, mean that accountants must pay more attention than ever to the issue of data security from the vantage points of both competitive positioning and compliance.

In this revealing article, we explore:

  • Information Security Management
  • Privacy Management
  • Secure Data File Storage, Transmission, and Exchange
