1. The JCRC Spring/Summer Holocaust Education Newsletter contains comprehensive resources, lesson plans, educational opportunities, information about Holocaust education events in the Philadelphia area, and much more.

3. Read about the History of Yom HaShoah.
4. The Partnership for Jewish Education offers Yom HaShoah resources and links.
5. The OU's page contains links to museums, organizations, and background information, and includes a special page for teens.
6. This video, "God Almighty, When Will It End?," uses hip hop music by Israeli musicians Miri Ben Ari and Subliminal to tell about the Holocaust.

Yom HaZikaron & Yom Ha'Atzma'ut Resources
1. Watch this moving and inspirational video (scroll down to the bottom of the page) - from March of the Living, an international, educational program that
brings Jewish teens from all over the world
to
Auschwitz/Birkenau in Poland on Yom HaShoah and then on to Israel to observe Yom
HaZikaron, and celebrate Yom Ha'Atzmaut.

3. Background information, activities, and ceremony formats for Yom HaZikaron can be found at the Jewish Agency for Israel site.
4. JAFI also has a comprehensive site for Yom Ha'Atzma'ut, with games, quizzes, and simulations.

When teaching about the Holocaust, be sure to use age-appropriate materials. Many books and movies can be misleading (due to font size, illustrations, titles, etc.) so using professional guidelines is highly recommended. AMERICA AND THE HOLOCAUST V-5077 Using interviews, archival photos and documents, and some
home movies, this DVD traces the story of America's inaction and
indifference during the Holocaust. 1 1/2 hours. Ages 14 - Adult. Teacher's Guide available.
PIGEON V-5106 Set during World War II and based
on a true story, this trigger DVD recounts a rare and startling act of courage
and kindness in a time of cruelty and fear. 10 minutes. Ages 12 - Adult. Teacher's Guide available.
SHALOM SESAME V-5039-5043 This five-DVD set is a fun and fact-filled journey to Israel and its rich cultural heritage. Bursting with music, adventure and silliness, it introduces children to the people and places of Israel. Approximately one hour, 10 minutes per dvd. Ages 3 - 12.
PILLAR OF FIRE V-5021 The incredible story of Israel's rebirth is recounted in this seven-part/three-DVD set. Approximately one hour per section. Ages 12 - adult.
