The Showroom To Date |
|
We have been
remodeling and updating our Office/Home into a showroom just like a real homeowner --
updating and remodeling as our budget allows. Here is what has been accomplished this past year:
1. Unused brick chimney removed -- some bricks will be stored for future reuse.
2. Side door removed and replaced with a window.
3. Antique fir floors sanded and refinished with no VOC and low VOC natural floor finishes from Bio-Shield.
4.
Fitting out of four green kitchen displays using
Environmental Stewardship Program (FSP) cabinets, recycled glass and concrete
countertop, bamboo butcher block countertop, ECO countertops, a custom concrete
countertop and cork flooring -- all wonderful sustainable materials for
remodeling projects in homes today. In the majority of cases the materials and
products are no more expensive (and are in some cases less expensive) than their
less sustainable counterparts. 5. LED
recessed lighting and under cabinet lighting 6. Painting
of walls with Bio-shield clay and water based solvent free paints. Other walls
with are in the process of being painted with "Old Fashioned Milk", made
locally in Groton,

Edward Burtynsky Gallery |
|
This unique gallery of photographs by the Canadian photographer, Edward Burtynsky, follows a decade of exploring the topic of oil and its affect on our lives. Most importantly, he depicts the coming "end of oil" and what that may mean for the earth. Amazing! |
