THANK YOU! Junior League Napa Sonoma pledges $35,000!
You may have read on our website about the
sponsorhsip awarded to the Children's Museum of the North Bay in June
by the Junior League of Napa Sonoma.
The VERY hard working women (and their husbands behind the scenes) of this wonderful organization gave the CMNB $35,000 to be used over 3 years towards the development of the MUSUEUM-ON-THE-GO!
We are so thankful for their help and support!"The Act of Giving is nearly magical. It helps the organization do its good works for many people AND it fills the donor with joy."

Crystal Ornaments Project

|
This is a super fun project for preschoolers and above submitted by one of our talented volunteers. It's super fun and very easy (with the help of a parent). And as you can see, the results are beautiful!

 What You Need
- Chenille Stems
- Borax Multi-Purpose Cleaner (you can find it at the grocery store)
- Pencils
- String
- Ribbon
- Glass container
How To Make It Step One: Bend a chenille stem into the desired shape. Snowflakes, stars, hearts, circles, and squares are some possible ideas.
Step Two: Use pencils to suspend the shapes in the container by tying them on with string. Make sure the shapes do not touch the sides of the container or each other.
Step Three: Adult: Start boiling enough water to fill the glass container to the top. Pour Borax into container - ratio of 1/4 cup Borax to 2 cups water. When water boils, pour into container and stir until Borax dissolves.
Step Four: Carefully lower the shapes into the mixture and leave them suspended overnight. In the morning, crystals will have formed on the shapes. You can then make them into ornaments, frames, jewelry and more.

Greetings!
It's hard to believe 2008 is coming to an end - and what an exciting year it has been! This year the Museum-on-the-Go (MOG) participated in 25 events all around Sonoma and Napa Counties! More than 2500 children got the opportunity to play and learn with hands-on exhibits like our Magnet Table, Hopper Popper, and Drillerator. We visited two schools and have received numerous inquiries to visit more! Check out our website to see a list of past events for 2008.
We hope to see you at the upcoming FUNdraising events to support the Children's Museum. And stay tuned for the MOG 2009 Calendar of Events.
We are actively researching a couple of sites in Santa Rosa for the future home of the Children's Museum of the North Bay, so please take the SITE SURVEY.
Please read on to find out more exciting news, and be sure to check out the super fun Holiday Craft Project like the one seen here in the photo.
