Donors and Recipients Celebrate Scholarship Program

Because of the generosity of our many donors, United was able to host a celebration of the scholarship program at our Annual Scholarship Dinner on Friday evening, November 4, 2011. Scholarship recipients and donors met each other to offer thanks and encouragement, and Bishop George Bashore ’58, offered the address, “The Importance of Stewardship for Theological Education.”

This year, more than 140 students received scholarships. There were 35 named scholarships awarded in the Fall and more will be awarded in Spring of 2012. Among these 35 named scholarships, United awarded five Master Scholar scholarships, a special scholarship program that connects benefactor and beneficiary in tangible ways.

Thanks to the many folks who called from home and on campus during United's annual "United GIVES Back" Phonathon in October. We appreciate the commitment of our alumni/ae and friends to educating the future leaders of the church!
