Exciting Spring Courses at United

United is offering an exciting array of short-term intensive courses this June.  Several are offered in a hybrid format, with only one face-to-face meeting and the rest of the class time online.  Instructors include Dr. Mike Slaughter, Dr. Charles Booth, Dr. Rod Kennedy, Dr. Jeff Greenway, Dr. Jennifer Woodruff-Tait, Dr. Chuck Gutenson, and members of United's faculty.  Three of these courses may be taken for continuing education credit.

Join Us for the 2009 Heck Lectures 

     United's 2009 Heck Lectures and Spring Convocation take place at United's campus on Tuesday and Wednesday, April 14-15.  Guest lecturer Dr. Ellen Charry will speak on the theme, "God and the Art of Happiness."  Dr. Charry is the associate professor of systematic and historical theology at Princeton Theological Seminary.
On Tuesday night the Alumni/ae Association will honor two alumni, Rev. Dr. Daniel Shearer as Distinguished Alumnus and Rev. Ronald Mowry as Effective Minister.  The banquet begins at 6:30 p.m. and is $25 per person.

Vision to Victory is April 22

 
Vision to Victory, a celebration of the life and ministry of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King is planned for Wednesday, April 22, at 11:15 a.m. at Precious Blood Catholic Church, 4961 Salem Ave., Dayton.  Dr. Daryl Ward, Pastor of Omega Baptist Church is preaching "From Martin to Barack: What's Next?"  This ecumenical event is free and open to the public.  Visit the website for more information.

Let's Talk Lincoln is April 20

In honor or the bicentennial of Abraham Lincoln's birth, United will host a community event called Let's Talk Lincoln on Monday, April 20.  The event is offered in cooperation with the Lincoln Society of Dayton and through the generous support of the Dayton Power and Light Foundation.  Please visit our website for more information.
