Highlight on the American Dream Academy
KJZZ's Marcos Najera takes a closer look at ADA

The American Dream Academy is a signature program of the ASU Center for Community Development & Civil Rights.  The ADA Parent Education Program is based on curriculum developed by the Parent Institute for Quality Education (PIQE) in California, which uses an intense, one-on-one contact model to create a community in which parents and teachers collaborate to transform each child's educational environment at home and at school.

The ADA's educational focus starts with the beginning of life, helping parents to instill the value of education within themselves and their children.  Through ADA, parents are given the tools to guide their children through K-12th grades and into higher education.  This type of school based intervention empowers and trains parents to become effective advocates and partners in their children's education.
Sincerely,
