The Print Oasis 2010 Print Buyers Conference
So many of you are calling to find out when we are planning to have Print Oasis 2010. We are so encouraged by your calls! We have not yet set a date or location - and I am not planning on doing so for a few more months. I want to make sure that the economic climate will support a robust conference as we've enjoyed in the past. Please do budget for the event - same pricing as last year - and hold tight a while longer. Thanks for your support!

New Job Listing!
It's a new year and with it let's hope for lots of new jobs. The first to make our job listing this year is a Print Project Manager position available at a company in Oak Brook, IL. View the full job listing here:  PBO's Job Bank

Question to you from a reader:
Here's a question from a major print buyer who would like your advice. If you have a comment to share, please send it to me at smorgan@e-pbo.com and I will forward it to her: "Our in-house buyers are currently using Logic Source (aka Cirqit) to e-procurement print. Does anyone in the PBO community utilize an e-procurement system? If so, could you please provide feedback and which system your use? Thanks."

Two Thumbs Down on New Industry PIA and NAPL Terms & Conditions of SalePrinting Industries of America, National Association of Printing Leadership and NPES have very recently released a new Best Business Guidelines for Terms and Conditions of Sale. This ten page document is provided to printers "for use in client and supplier communications as determined by each supplier." The guidelines suggests terms on issues such as overs, claims, brokers, alterations, proofing, spoilage, delivery, etc. Please read my article on why I am expressly against these new guidelines and why I believe print buyers should refuse ANY blanket terms and conditions of sale from suppliers.

Suzanne's Blog: Two Thumbs Down on New PIA and NAPL Industry Terms and Conditions for Sale!

Printing Industries of America, National Association of Printing Leadership and NPES have very recently released a new "Best Business Guidelines for Terms and Conditions of Sale". This ten page document is provided to printers "for use in client and supplier communications as determined by each supplier." The guidelines suggests terms on issues such as overs, claims, brokers, alterations, proofing, spoilage, delivery, etc. This replaces previous renditions of the Terms and Conditions for Sale that date back decades and serve to protect suppliers.
