...And note from Scrooge
It's been a long time since print buyers have seen the glory days of holiday gift receiving. Yes, buying companies for a long time now have set strong policies against their buyers receiving lavish gifts. Receiving modest gifts from printers or gifts that could be shared with the entire department, for most buying companies, was deemed acceptable. Note the past tense. This year, I'm seeing more corporations sending out letters to its suppliers asking that they avoid providing any gifts or gratuities to the corporation's employees, regardless of the value. I wholeheartedly support this. 2009 is the year to be modest and hold back on gift giving. Anyway, no good print buyer worth her salt would be swayed whether she got a gift or not, seriously.

The Print Oasis 2010 Print Buyers Conference
We've been hearing from many of you asking about our plans for Print Oasis 2010. Yes, of course, we are planning to have our annual conference in 2010, but we've not yet selected a location or date. We will make an announcement in late winter/early spring after we've seen more signs of an economic recovery. So hold tight and budget for the usual.
