New "Small and Short-Run Print Projects" Print Buyer Survey
Good news!  Last week we launched a new "Small and Short-run Print Projects" survey for print buyers.  We have had excellent response so far and for those of you that participated, we greatly appreciate your feedback.  Already we've learned a great deal about the trends towards shorter print runs and web-to-print technologies for efficiencies in print buying.  I'll be sharing my thoughts on some of those topics over the next few weeks.  The first 100 survey participants had their choice of a $10 iTunes Gift Certificate or our 70-page "Top Ten Print Buyer Case Studies" Special Report.  We will have those prize winners selected this week.

Look Who's Been Certified!
We'd like to take this time to recognize all of the people that have received their professional certifications through PCPI to date.  Congratulations are extended to these candidates that demonstrated their knowledge by successfully passing a written examination.  If you haven't already done so, we invite you to join our growing list of certified professionals!  View our list here:  PCPI Certified Professionals. If you decide to get certified today, please contact Kimberlee Sautter at ksautter@pcpi.org or 703-534-9307 for details on our exciting special offers now available.

Question:
How do you figure out how many plates or cylinders will be needed for a print job?

Answer:
The number of plates and cylinders needed to produce a printed job are a factor of how many ink colors and special effects are required...
