At first I thought it was a wonderful place to live, then a short time passed and I began to miss people and things I had left behind to move to this place. I found myself in a 'valley of decision' to decide if I wanted to stay in this wonderful place or go back to the place where my loved ones and old home were.
The very next morning when I began work, I received an email from one of our readers, it was about the valley of decision. The scripture is Joel 3:14-18.
Multitudes, multitudes in the valley of decision: for the day of the LORD is near in the valley of decision. The sun and the moon shall be darkened, and the stars shall withdraw their shining. The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. So shall ye know that I am the LORD your God dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain: then shall Jerusalem be holy, and there shall no strangers pass through her any more. And it shall come to pass in that day, that the mountains shall drop down new wine, and the hills shall flow with milk, and all the rivers of Judah shall flow with waters, and a fountain shall come forth of the house of the LORD, and shall water the valley of Shittim.
I thought about the dream and this scripture for days. I knew God was dealing with me about making a decision. I knew it was a place of deciding if I wanted to stay in a place of comfort and with those I treasured or if I wanted to move to a new destination with the Lord.
I studied the word valley and found it meant a deep place. The word decision means to cut, to decide, to determine and to decree. I believe many of us are here today.
It's time to decide and that decision will determine where we stand, where we dwell when the darkness covers the earth. I believe there will be a shaking in the earth but I also believe that if we have made the right decision that we will dwell in Zion, in the safety and comfort and protection of our God. We will dwell in a place where mountains drip new wine. We will dwell in a place where the hills flow with milk and the rivers flow with refreshing waters.
As I said I believe many of us are in this place, the valley of decision. I believe we have to choose to follow God upward to the place flowing with milk and honey. We have to declare this day that we choose to follow God. Many of us have come through seasons of challenge and loss and hurt beyond what we thought we could endure...but we came through, we are still here and we are still serving God. We make our decision from a deep place, a place where our faith has been challenged. Still, we must decide today to move forward with God and allow him to take us to the place he desires for us to dwell in this season and that place is in him. Wherever he is, we must go. That is really the only decision we can make.
For more insight on these scriptures and the prophetic implications of this time, I understand there was an article by Rick Joyner called The Fullness of Time and the Valley of Decision on the Elijah list recently. You can find it at www.elijahlist.com.
