After I wrote yesterday's motivation, I have not been able to stop thinking about the scripture in Psalm 133:1-3. It says; A Song of Ascents. Of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious oil upon the head, running down on the beard, the beard of Aaron, running down on the edge of his garments. It is like the dew of Hermon, descending upon the mountains of Zion; for there the Lord commanded the blessing-- Life forevermore.
I have taken the time to look up the words from the scripture and discovered anew the power in unity. I have studied this scripture before, but sometimes I think we need to revisit some scripture and rediscover their power.
Unity means a unitedness, to be joined together and to be unity. This means to be in agreement completely. The word commanded means that God has given the order to bless you, he has ordained it and he has commanded it. The word blessing means a source of blessing, prosperity, and a treaty of peace. Life evermore means to live, to have life, to live prosperously, to be restored to life and health and it means perpetual and continual life.
This scripture is saying when we join together in unity, in our home, in our churches, in our ministry, in our businesses, when this happens, God, himself, orders a blessing upon us, he commands that blessing to come. That blessing is prosperity, life, peace and abundance and it is continual, forevermore. This is the life God has desired us to have, a life of peace, a life of health, a life of prosperity...his life.
Unity is not easy, it takes a lot of work and it takes two people, not one, working together. But it is attainable. And if you work to have it, the blessing that comes with it is tremendous. It is life, the zoe life of God, perpetually. I believe it would be worth it, don't you?
On the other hand, if you are experiencing less than the blessing that comes with unity, I would suggest you check your heart and see if there is a lack of unity somewhere in your life. Do whatever you can do to keep unity in those around you and those God has put in your life.
Now, that being said, I know there are some instances where you have done all you can do and the other person involved is someone you cannot be in unity with, in those situations, keep your heart right and pliable before God, but don't take guilt for something you can't fix, simply ask God to fix it, then walk on in peace.
Finally, are you in unity with God? Are you in complete unity with what God has spoken to you, do you have faith in what he has said? Have you fallen into doubt and unbelief with the prophetic words that God has had spoken over you? Unity between you and God is vital as well.
Friends, some of you may be alone and have no one to be in unity with, if that is so, you can be in unity with the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit. If you come to a place where you are in complete agreement and unity with God, you will experience a blessing of life evermore. This I know for certain because there is nothing but life in God.
Where there is unity...God commands a blessing...life evermore. That alone is enough to choose to walk in unity...don't you think?
