I was reading something the other day that really caught my attention. It was talking about a moment in time when everything changes for you. It happens to all of us, we all have that 'moment' we were born for.
Most people live very ordinary lives. They simply do the mundane day after day, never realizing that one day they will have their moment in time. Yet the truth remains that we were all put on this earth for a reason, we all have a destiny that awaits us, even if that destiny is only for a moment.
I think about the man that was called the 'miracle man' who landed a plane in the Hudson River near New York. Before that day, his life was very ordinary, he simply woke up each day and went to work, only he knows how many flights he flew that were simply hum drum and just another day. But one day his moment of destiny came. His forty years of everyday life of flying experience and preparation took him into a miracle zone over the Hudson River that made history.
The everyday, ordinary mundane is what bores most people, yet it is the proving ground of our awaited destiny.
I think about King David who lived the ordinary life of a shepherd day after day. Each day he woke up and went into the fields to tend sheep. During that ordinary time he had days that he was probably bored beyond belief, there were the days where he fought off lions and bears - to him, it was just another part of his job.
One day his moment came. He had learned the protection and power of his God in his day to day life therefore when it came time to face a giant, he knew the same God would deliver this man into his hands, just as He had delivered the lion and the bear into his hands.
Then I think about Elijah. He was a prophet of God, his life was simply about hearing God and doing what God said to do. Day after day, he lived life simply going where God said to go. However, one day all that day to day training come to play and he confronted the prophets of Baal and showed them which God was indeed God. His entire life has prepared him for that moment.
And we have Esther, who saved a nation. Just a young girl, living a normal life and one day she was asked to do something out of the ordinary, she accepted the challenge and an entire nation was saved in a day.
We hear of people like this daily, firemen who save a life from a burning building. Our armed forces who fight to save lives day after day - they are all living in their moment - and for many of them, we will never know their names.
That makes me think of the Navy Seals who fired the gunshots that brought the rescue of the Sea Caption who was taken hostage by Pirates. These three men trained all their life for a moment like that - from seventy five feet away they fired three perfect shots and saved a man's life.
No one even knows their name. That's how it is sometimes, even with God, you have your moment of destiny, where you make literal history and many never even know you played a part in it.
I think about intercessors who pray for our nation and our leaders, they change things in the spirit and no one ever knows their names. Or that Mom who cried out to God to cause her children to walk in truth - those children will never know the price that Mom paid. Or those ministers who travel into the most horrendous parts of our world to tell others about the love of Jesus, many dying from disease or becoming captured and killed, those who we will never know their names until we reach heaven.
We all have a 'moment in time' and what you are doing right now, in your everyday life is preparing you for that moment.' Stay alert, watch for your moment - it could be today. And this I know, it will change lives, maybe just one life, but if only one life were changed or saved, isn't that enough? Of course it is. Don't think of your life as mundane...think of it as preparation for your moment. That moment you were born for.
Keep in mind, whatever you are doing day after day - that very thing that you may think is ordinary is very likely preparing you for your destiny - God doesn't waste time or days - every single day has purpose, each day as we follow the leading of the Lord, in that path, there is purpose. Never think your life doesn't have purpose, even before you reach your destiny...even then life has purpose - YOUR life has purpose and each day God is preparing you to walk in it.
Your moment of destiny, the very second when you begin to walk in your destiny is fast approaching you - it could be this day, this hour or a month from now - but one thing is certain, it is coming and when it arrives, you will be ready for it - after all He equipped you before the foundations of the earth and He has prepared you all along the way for your destiny! You will make an impact - you will change the world and you will fufill all that God has shown you. That moment...that moment that is the beginning of your destiny...it is upon you. Stay alert, watch for it, for it will surely come.
