One Little Adjustment
I read an email today from a partner who had recently made a big change in their life. It was a difficult change; not an easy decision for them to make. But they made it. Shortly after God began to bring things into their life that was a huge blessing. Not only that but they are experiencing the healing and peace of God like never before. As I read this it caused me to think about a few things that I want to share with you today.
One of the things it caused me to think about is how one, often seemingly insignificant decision, can change everything. The other was how it is vital to be in the right place at the right time, in other words to be in the place God wants you in.
I once heard Jerry Savelle tell a story about a time where he seemed to come up against a wall in his prayer life. He had been experiencing blessings and answered prayer but then he seemed to hit a brick wall. He spoke with Brother Copeland and Brother Copeland said 'go back to the last place you know God spoke to you and see if you did what God told you to do.'
Jerry went back and realized that he had not done what God had told him to do. He did the thing and began to see the blessing of God in his life again, it was just one small adjustment and the blessings began to flow again.
That was not the first time I have heard stories like that, I have heard them over and over for the past twenty years. Someone will hit a wall and then make a small adjustment and then God's blessing begin to flow.
If you feel you are against a wall in your spiritual life or even in your physical life, go back like Jerry did, see if you did the last thing God told you to do. Ask God if there are any adjustments you need to make in your life, if so make them. I can guarantee you one thing; God wants you blessed even more than you want to be blessed.
The other thing I thought about was being in the place of God's will or God's direction. One time God showed me something in scripture about Abraham and Isaac. Remember when God told Abraham to go to a certain mountain and sacrifice Isaac? He told him to go to a specific mountain. Abraham obeyed. What Abraham didn't know was that God had already provided a ram in the thicket on that certain mountain. The Bible says God goes BEFORE us and makes the crooked places straight. He goes before us and prepares the way we will go and that is what He did for Abraham that day.
What if Abraham had become tired along the way and said 'I'm tired, I don't want to walk any longer, let's go to this mountain instead, the place doesn't really matter, it is the sacrifice that matters.'
I can tell you one thing, the ram in the thicket was on the certain mountain that God told him to go to, not on the other mountain. In showing me this God showed me how important it is that we go where God tells us to go and do what God tells us to do.
It would have been sad if Abraham had not been in the place of the ram in the thicket - he would have probably sacrificed his son Isaac, and that was not God's plan. God's plan was already provided for...but Abraham had to be in the right place at the right time.
If you are not seeing your 'ram in the thicket' today ask God if you are on the right mountain. Ask God if you are in the right place at the right time. God has made a way for you just like he made a way for Abraham that day, it only takes following God to the specific place he has directed you to go...there you will find your ram in the thicket.
Allow God to lead and guide you in every way and every day...Isaiah 1:19 tells us the willing and obedient eat the good of the land...let's eat the good of the land.
