Stand Firm!

Today I want to talk to you from my heart and encourage you in the Lord. For the past few partner letters I have encouraged you to press into God and press into the things of God, to push for the things that God has promised you - today I feel like I need to tell you something different, I need to encourage you to stand firm.

            Throughout the Bible there was often times when the enemy seemed to be surrounding God's people. I recall the instance where Pharaoh's army was right on the tail of God's people and they had nowhere to run. Pharaoh was at their rear and the Red Sea was in front of them. Obviously they were afraid, but what did God say to them? He said 'stand firm and you will see my salvation and this enemy, you will see no more.'

            Another time with King Jehoshaphat; a battle was before them and the people were afraid but he said 'you will not need to fight this battle, stand firm, hold your position and see God's salvation.'

            This is where I feel we are spiritually. The battle is God's, we only need to stand firm, hold our position and we will see His salvation.

            Psalm 20:7-8 tells us that those who trust in their own flesh or the ways of the world will fall on their knees but those who trust in God, who stand firm in their faith, will stand firm and fixed. Psalm 30:7 says by God's favor we will stand firm.

            And I love Psalm 33:11; it says the Lords plans for us will stand firm, His thoughts for us stand firm forever. One translation says that His intentions for us cannot be shaken. It reminds me of the scripture that says 'For I know the thoughts and plan I have for you says the Lord, thoughts for good and not for evil.' Those 'good' thoughts from God are immovable, they can't be shaken, and they will stand forever.

            I don't know about you but I have had some shaking going on at my home this past week, but this one thing I know, there is something that can't be shaken and that is God's plan and destiny for me. It is unshakable and I refuse to be shaken.

            I intend to stand firm and hold my position of overcomer. I will hold my position of daughter of the Most High God and I will continue to stand and praise His holy, faithful name.

            God is saying 'stand firm' that can only mean we are at the crossing of the Red Sea and this enemy we will see no more. I don't know about you but that is good news for me today. It reminds me of a story I read about a general in the army. He had enemies on his left, on his right, in front of him and behind him, he was surrounded by gunfire. The base rang his radio to check in with him, asking 'is all well?' The general replied 'they are to the left and right of us; they are behind us and in front of us.' Then after a brief pause, he said 'there is no way they can get away from us now, victory is assured.' This enemy who may think he has us hemmed in...there is no way he can escape Gods plan for him and there is no way he can hinder Gods plan for us...as long as we stand firm. I encourage you this month...stand firm. Be immovable. Be unshakable. Stand on the promises of God. Encourage yourself in the Lord and refuse to back up. Stand Firm my friend, victory is assured.

            This month as you sow your seed - sow a crossing over seed - for that is what we are doing this month...crossing over into all God has for us.
