Greetings!

To be an Olympian requires a wonderful combination of characteristics, very similar to the characteristics of an Inspired Entrepreneur.

Passion. You gotta love it right? Otherwise, why bother? Olympians and Inspired Entrepreneurs are volunteers for the path, dream builders, and often evolve into big-hearted forces of nature, attracting large followings by being a vibrant living example.

Tenacity (sometimes confused with passion). Tenacity is the old "stick with it"/"eye on the prize" approach. What do you pursue with tenacity? Where does your persistence show up? Really, stop and NOTICE it. Wherever you are tenacious, you will find deep wells of sustainability for your business. Sometimes we wish we were tenacious in areas where we just don't care that much. Face the truth head on and honor your persistence where it shows up naturally. Then HIRE OUT the tasks where you wish you were persistent.

Devout Student (no kidding). Here's the truth about great athletes and great entrepreneurs. We LOVE TO LEARN. What do you study whenever you get the chance? Who are your teachers? What do you need to understand? What must you take apart to learn how it works? Herein lies a big clue about how you want to grow yourself and quite possibly your company.

Talent. YES, you've got some. It is your task to reveal it to the rest of us. Nurture it, challenge it, train it, share it, dress it up and test it. The world is waiting ...

Maverick (the creative juice). Even among team athletes, there is the willingness to be different, do your own thing, break with convention. What does it take to shape a life compatibile with the Olympics? Compatible with your entrepreneurial dreams and aspirations? Like the Olympian, the shape of the Inspired Entrepreneur's life includes health and well being by design.

Humility (strong companion to Talent). This is a set-up to do the right thing, mentor others and keep learning. Many world record holders dream of someday seeing themselves surpassed, of meeting the person who was able to take the dream farther. Of sharing the podium with a true peer.

Worthy Opponent. This most honorable, warrior-like characteristic of the Olympian carries the highest regard, the deepest respect, for the game and all who play it. The worthy opponent is a great adversary who is trustworthy to challenge us to be the best we can be, by giving us something to push against. The game is a chance to learn from each other.
