JoAnn Bruhn - JoAnn combines public speaking, channelled music compositions and her own life experience to help others find "The Gift Within Grief and the Power of Harmony"

Bo Billy - I first read about Bo Billy in a local paper, where he persistently referred to himself in the third person -- "Bo Billy" this and "Bo Billy" that. Yes, I laughed, but I also remembered his name!

Greetings!

There's a great poem, called Ithaca by Constantine P. Cavafy, that says:
When you set out on your journey to Ithaca,
pray that the road is long,
full of adventure, full of knowledge.
His reminder is simple. Your life is a journey, not a destination.

Many times the people who ask for my help need only to learn this simple lesson again.

When we have a hard focus on the destination, we get soooo stressed out and then what happens? Body chemistry changes.

What happens when body chemistry reflects stress? All kinds of mayhem: car accidents, falls, colds, cancer.

Yes, you have a great business idea. Yes, you were blessed with the wherewithall to carry it out. Do you really think the Divine is interested in watching you take on your own demise? Not a chance.

So let's get back to the great entrepreneurial vision found in soft focus. Join me in taking a deep breath, RIGHT NOW, and let it out with some noise. Oh, my that felt good. Now let's do it again. Imphhh! Haaaaa! ...Now some toxins have escaped through your breath.

Still stressed? Don't forget the gum on your forehead. That's your hard focuser. Pull that off and throw it away.

Now, what is your Ithaca? What pulls you along into great experience? Honor that distant light and then get on with enjoying the journey.

Entrepreneurial Contests

Most contests like this are aimed at business school students. NOT THESE TWO! Yes, they ask you for a business plan... or a napkin anyway. We all know what that means. Take your most outlandish idea and write it up or map it out. Whether you win or not, you'll have the fun of seeing what you know and where you're totally guessing. Treat either one as an exercise in dreaming big!

Minnesota CupWhether your breakthrough idea is high tech or no tech, whether you are just putting your ideas into a business plan or if you've been out building your venture.  The Minnesota Cup is an annual, statewide competition that seeks out aspiring entrepreneurs and their breakthrough ideas. The hunt is on for the next great entrepreneurial success story in Minnesota. Deadline for applications: 11:59 PM on May 23rd. Learn more.

Women 2.0 Competition Women 2.0 aims to increase the number of young women entrepreneurs in technology. Notes on a napkin? No problem these contest organizers say. Examples of fundable businesses for this contest include (but are not restricted to) technology companies, consumer internet services, medical devices, software as a service, bio tech. Eligible teams with at least 50% female ownership and are invited to submit their business ideas. There are two steps to this process: fill out the online application form, and condense your idea onto a 7×7 inch paper napkin, all by April 15. Just found out about this one! My apologies for the short notice. - RS

Thanks for all you do to make what is in your heart show up in your hands.
