27% of Workers Being Bullied in the Workplace

A recent survey reported that one in four workers have felt bullied in the workplace with the majority neither confronting nor reporting the bully. Women reported a higher incidence of being treated unfairly at the office. One-third (34 percent) of women said they have felt bullied in the workplace compared to 22 percent of men. The most common culprit is typically the boss, according to the survey. Fourteen percent of workers felt bullied by their immediate supervisor while 11 percent felt bullied by a co-worker.

Sloppy Work Deemed Most Annoying Office Behavior
    error

According to a recent study, 41 percent of chief financial officers (CFOs) interviewed said lacking attention to detail and presenting sloppy work are the coworker behaviors that annoy them most. Gossiping or engaging in office politics also are pet peeves, cited by 23 percent of respondents.

    This week's question:
-When is it appropriate to use personality assessments?

    --- Restaurant Manager

    Answer:
While most candidates could be subjected to profiles of this nature and deliver the employer great insight into the candidate, it is best served to do these on professional level positions, especially management ones. The results of such tests tell you how the candidate will do with your people, as well as how to effectively manage them should they join your firm.
