Feng Shui Fridays
June 29, 2012

Greetings!

Happy Feng Shui Friday!  We're at the end of June already.  Are you enjoying your summer so far?  It seems I'm working with quite a few people who are moving or looking for a new home, so I thought for the next few weeks I'd talk about the energy of your house based on its numerology.

Because everything in the Universe is connected and always changing, your home's energy can affect you, and your emotions and feelings can influence the emotional energy in your home.  Here's how you can look at your home the feng shui way.

Feng Shui Tip of the Week

In her book Sacred Space: Clearing and Enhancing the Energy of Your Home, Denise Linn says "your home is comprised of endlessly transforming energy fields, you are not separate from your home, and your home is alive and has consciousness."  This energy may be why we are attracted to one home more than another based solely on the address.

This week, add up the numbers of your address (until they are ONE digit) to see if it is harmonious with the energy of who you are and where you are going.  (Example:  2687 Elm = 2+3+4+5=14 = 1+4= 5 House; 7086 West 57th = 7+0+8+6= 2+1= 3 House; 451 Sycamore = 4+5+1=10=1+0= One House.  Note: Each home's energy is summarized here for brevity's sake.  For complete details refer to Denise's book.

One House: Independence, new beginnings,  progress,.   Conducive to someone who wants to follow their own instincts and express individuality with creativity and originality. Not a house that will always be neat, as sometimes minor details are secondary to the creative process. Strong emotions may occur if more than one strong individual is sharing the home.  Challenge: You may feel isolated or alone even if others are around you.

Two House: Balance of yin and yang, putting others before yourself, knowledge comes from the balance and marriage of opposites.  Excellent home for two people who are are sharing space as close roommates.  Strong desire for peace and harmony through diplomacy. Gardens, music, art and magic all flourish.  Challenge:  May become oversensitive or care too much about the feelings of others.  May sometimes seem to exclude others because the occupants of the house can be very self-contained.

Three House: Mind, Body, Spirit; nature of Divinity; expansion; communication; fun; optimism.  A home where you can feel and be positive about your life and expand your vision for your life.  Great for parties, entertaining and expanding social life.  Different culture and backgrounds can meet here and relate to each other with warmth and love. Challenge: Tendency to expand too quickly, scatter your energies and spread yourself too thin. Watch finances for tendency to enjoy now and pay later.

Next week covers Four, Five and Six House followed by Seven, Eight and Nine House on July 13.
